Greater Portland Community Sing

Difficult times call us to utilize one of our oldest social technologies to keep us united, connected, motivated, and regulated - singing!

We sing to fuel our movements - Songs can ignite and sustain causes for liberation and progression that we hold dear.

We sing for medicine - We can regulate and activate our bodies and brains, feel a sense of belonging, connect with neighbors and friends, and fill our cups to sustain our work. We can channel grief and anger or elicit reverence and PLAY!

Through singing we practice bravery, vulnerability, and community care. We feel the power generated by joining our voices as ONE.

Sunday, March 1 in Monument Square - Singing Resistance: National Day of Song

Recently, thousands of people from all over the country joined training workshops by the Minneapolis-based Singing Resistance, which has been a powerful presence there.

The songs and the movement have spread nationally, a beautiful co-arising with so many folks who have been carrying this vision as well. Their organizing has brought it to the next level and we hope you'll join us for the first nation-wide Singing Resistance on Sunday. Emilia will be emceeing and leading one of the songs.

What we appreciate about this project and movement is the dedication to shared humanity, non-violent protest, and a focus on leading with love.
